Gaëtan Cliquennois

Gaëtan Cliquennois is research professor for the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) at the University of Rennes (IODE). His work concerns European human-rights justice, litigation strategies, and the role of NGOs and private foundations at the Strasbourg Court. He is author of European Human Rights Justice and Privatisation: The Growing Influence of Foreign Private Funds (Cambridge University Press, 2020), the Impact of HumanRights Bodies on Penal Policies (Pagrave Mc Millan) and author of many special issues and articles publised in top-tier journals. He is directing the ANR project JUST_MORAL (2023-2027) and is leading the ERC project JUST.PEN (2025-2030) that focuses on the conservative and liberal mobilization at the European Courts. He is also associate editor of the European Journal of Criminology.
