Please tell us about your research project.

I am a doctoral student in comparative labour law at the University of Bordeaux and Université Laval (Québec). My research seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the legal rules governing the determination of remuneration in France, Québec, and the United Kingdom. In particular, I examine national, European, and international legal frameworks relating to minimum wages, as well as the regulation of collective bargaining over pay.

Could you please tell us a bit more about your scholarship/exchange programme?

I have been fortunate to spend time at the Maison Française d’Oxford during July and August 2025, and again during the summer of 2026. The MFO provided me with access to the resources of the Bodleian Libraries. The Law Library, in particular, holds a wealth of historical materials. It includes early reports of the International Labour Organization and the British Hansard, both of which are particularly valuable for my research.

First impressions of Oxford/the University?

Oxford and the Maison Française have provided me with an exceptional environment in which to pursue my research. It is an ideal place to work in a peaceful and focused setting, as the town is remarkably accessible on foot and with many green spaces. I also greatly appreciate the excellent working environment at the MFO, which offers several study spaces accessible around the clock and provides opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with inspiring researchers from a wide range of disciplines.
